Where Does Harry Potter Shop?
Harry Potter was a busy man. He was always on the go, whether fighting dark wizards or teaching at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. But even though he had a vibrant life, Harry always made time to shop for Harry Potter merchandise.
Why would Harry Potter collect Harry Potter merch, you might ask? Well, he was nostalgic about his adolescent years when he, Ron, and Hermione were growing into their courageous Gryffindor selves. And he wanted items to remind him of that time.
Harry loved going back to Diagon Alley. There, he could find everything he needed, from Harry Potter wands and robes to potions and books. But Harry's favourite thing - even if he was not consciously aware - was to go to the muggle world. He hid under the Invisibility Cloak and watched people coming out of fandom shops wearing their very new Harry Potter bag...
Harry shed a tear and started walking back home via House of Spells street. As Harry was trudging home, engulfed by nostalgia, he saw a familiar figure. The figure was Albus Dumbledore.
Harry was astonished to see Dumbledore and thought his deep nostalgia had become a dream. But there he was, standing in front of him, looking as alive as ever. Dumbledore.
"Dumbledore?" Harry said. "Is that really you?"
"Yes, Harry, it is," Dumbledore said. "I'm not sure how I'm here, but I am."
"But you're dead," Harry said. "I saw you die."
"I died, yes," Dumbledore said. "But death is not the end. I am still here, in a way."
"I don't understand," Harry said.
"I am a spirit, Harry," Dumbledore said.
"So you can read my mind?" Harry asked.
"No, Harry," Dumbledore said. "But I can sense your thoughts and feelings. I know what you are thinking and feeling, even if you do not say anything."
"That's creepy, Professor" Harry said.
"It is not meant to be "creepy", Harry," Dumbledore said. "It is meant to be comforting. I am here to help you, Harry. I am here to guide you."
"Guide me?" Harry asked. "To where?"
"To your home, Harry," Dumbledore said. "To your destiny."
"My destiny? My home?" Harry asked.
"Your home, Harry," Dumbledore said. "In the muggle world."
"But how is this my home?" Harry asked.
"Your home is where you always go but hide," Dumbledore said. "Open your heart and stay where you want to be, without any invisibility."
"I don't understand," Harry said.
"You will, Harry," Dumbledore said. "You always learn fast, my boy."
Dumbledore smiled at Harry, and then he was gone. Harry stood there for a moment, staring at the spot where Dumbledore had been standing. He didn't know what to think. He didn't know what to believe. And he started wondering: was Dumbledore right?
Harry turned and walked away, feeling a sense of peace that he had not felt in a long time. All of a sudden, he knew that Dumbledore was right.
Harry removed his Invisibility Cloak and opened himself to the muggle world. He did not need to go to a fandom shop hiding. He just had to join the celebration of the magical worlds with his muggle friends. Without any invisibility.
