Things you must know about the House of the Dragon
House of the Dragon is based upon another book series from George R.R. Martin
In 2018, Martin published the first of two planned volumes in a series entitled "Fire and Blood," which describes the history of the House of Targaryen, beginning with Aegon's conquest of Westeros. In contrast to his unfinished series "A Song of Ice and Fire", these books are not a narrative story told from the perspective of several main characters. Instead, "Fire and Blood" is more of a history book. Everything is written from the point of view of the historians and scholars of the Citadel of Westeros.
House of the Dragon shows 10 episodes
The show is still in its very early stages, so the creators have yet to announce the overall breakdown structure for the series. But there will reportedly be around 10 episodes, which was also the standard number on the GOT series, with the exception of the last two seasons. The series is set to begin with the capture of Aegon Targaryen. It may consist of the brief account of the conquest when Aegon 1 arrived in Westeros along with his sister wives Visenya and Rhaenys and managed to conquer six of the seven kingdoms under Targaryen rule.
The show won't have any familiar faces from the GOT series.
The series will also reportedly reveal all of the intricate details about House Targaryen. According to reports, fans are expecting the presence of the dragon Balerion The Black Dread, which was the largest dragon in Westeros and belonged to Aegon. His sisters also owned the dragons Vhagar and Meraxes. However, you can't wait to see the familiar faces from the GOT series on the show, as House Of The Dragon is set 300 years before the Incidents of The Song Of Ice and Fire. There will be some new faces from House Lannister, Stark and Baratheon rehearsing the role of the ancestors of the GOT characters. The Game Of Thrones prequel is directed by Miguel Sapochnik and Ryan Condal.
