The Joy of Creating a Community for Fandom Fans: A Conversation with House of Spells' Marketing Manager
Martin Velev is the Marketing Manager at House of Spells, an offline-and-online platform connecting fans to indulge in their favourite fandoms. Martin adores his job as he creates an environment where fans feel welcome and accepted, engulfed by franchises such as Harry Potter, Stranger Things, Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, and many others.
"House of Spells has blessed me with the opportunity to utilise my fandom love and share it with others," says Martin. "Every day, I see the rapture on people's faces when they find their favourite fandom merchandise, express their delight with vibrant "wows", and share their passion with their friends and the people they have just met at House of Spells. It's a wonderful collection of ephemeral joy."

Martin is confident that this enchanting environment can only exist with House of Spells' well-organised team members. "I cannot thank the in-store team enough for their ever-positive attitude and rapid assistance. Ask them the most detailed question about a Harry Potter collectable, and they can give you a dissertation if required."
The House of Spells team is always happy to assist you, talk to you about your favorite's fandom, and make you smile.
Martin is devoted to creating a safe and inclusive space for fans, and he thanks House of Spells for giving him this opportunity. "To say that House of Spells is just a physical shop or a website for fandom merchandise is such an understatement," says Martin. "It's a community; it's a place where all can be themselves. Nobody enters a generic shop with such sparkle in their eyes."
As the House of Spells Marketing Manager, Martin organises events and interacts with people from numerous backgrounds. "One does not necessarily have to be a fandom before entering the shop. We recently hosted a celebration of Draco Malfoy's Birthday, and the person delivering our Slytherin cupcakes for the event had yet to be a fandom fan. But they spent a good amount of time exploring the shop and came with their children again during the weekend," says Martin, chuckling. "There is some mysterious spell-like force inside House of Spells that nobody can explain. And I am delighted to keep working to comprehend this force better."
