BACKWARDS LOOKING BEAST SMALL-
This disc brooch is a replica of one found at Coppergate, York. It dates from the 10th century and features the classic backwards looking animal design seen in many forms on Viking age brooches. The original was severely worn and was probably a poor casting in the first place, so we have cleaned up the design to give our interpretation of what it was likely to have originally meant to look like.
